| Keeping your puppy clean |
Bathing and grooming can be great fun for both of you if approached in the right way. Avoid slips in the bathroom and take out a suitable pet insurance policy.
Brushing
Get him used to a daily brush, even if it's
just for a few minutes. There are a wide variety of brushes available, check
with your local pet shop or professional groomer for advise about which is best suited to your breed of puppy. His teeth can also do with a
regular brush, vets recommend you do this three times
a week. Use a soft human tooth brush and special canine toothpaste.
Bathing
Unless he gets absolutely filthy or has a
condition, limit these to once a month. Use a special dog shampoo that will
protect his sensitive skin. Start while he's young so he doesn't create a fuss
in later years. Use tepid or warm water to avoid shock.
