Your puppy must be continually protected throughout his life by an on-going programme of vaccinations. Contact your local vet practice to book an appointment. Preventative treatments such as vaccination will not be covered by most pet insurance policies.
The vaccinations will protect your puppy from the most serious and potentially fatal diseases.
These should start when he is around eight weeks old. Allow him to settle in with you for a few days before taking him for his first jabs. Don't forget he should not be mixing with other dogs until he is protected. If you want to take him abroad he'll need a rabies vaccination.
Most vaccination jabs are given in the scruff of the neck, it shouldn't hurt too much. An annual booster is also required for most vaccines.
