Get in tune with your dog

If you take the time to understand him you'll get along better. If he could talk he'd ask for a good quality pet insurance policy.

Do get him neutered unless you intend to breed.
Do play with him and provide toys to stop him getting bored.
Do watch what he eats, if he's getting heavy cut back.
Do stick to the rules, your dog will not cope well if you change the boundaries.
Don't over exercise young dogs, even when they are fully mature ask your vet for a recommended exercise regime.
Don't chastise him every time he barks, sometimes it's just his way of saying hello. Barking is only a problem if it is persistent.
Don't get hung up on all his bad habits - he'll grow out of most of them. If he doesn't, just go back to basic training.
Don't put up with biting, get specialist advice from your vet if this becomes a problem
