| Playing with your kitten |
Play is crucial to your kitten's development, it's the way she learns about the world around her. Once she is six months old she will play less, as many of the lessons have been learned. Remember to play with safe toys and insure yourself against accidents with a pet insurance policy.
Toys
Toys should be safe, have no loose
attachments or sharp pieces. Soft chewable toys are particularly useful while
your kitten is teething. Be inventive, a ball of newspaper is as much fun as an
expensive ready made gift. Top buys include balls with bells, chews, mice,
anything with catnip.
Children and cats
Teach your children how to play safely with
your kitten. Encourage them not to shout or make sudden movements and keep their
toys out of the way. Never leave a young child unattended with a cat or kitten.
