Cat poo
The toxocara worm (a parasite, whose eggs
live in cat faeces) can lead to a condition called toxocariasis, which can cause
blindness in humans. So empty litter trays regularly and wear gloves as well as
washing your hands.
Identification
Your kitten should have some form of permanent identification, such a
microchip. The chip number is held on a database with your contact details. If
she strays these can be found using a scanner.
Basic care
Groom regularly and treat against parasites including fleas. 
Make sure
your kitten has been treated for worms before taking her home.
In or out
Lots of cats live indoors, but most like a cat-flap that lets them come
and go. Just be careful if you live near a busy road.
